India to UK in 90 Days – Bosnia And Herzegovina – Mostar

I By:   I 3 months ago I   2 Comments I   Slovakia I   , , , , , , , , After a smooth ride to Mostar,i went to visit Blagaj Tekke before checking in at the hostel.Basically Blagaj is an old village and the Blagaj Tekke is a Dervish monastery in the side of the cliff. It is at the basin of the river Buna. It is a stunning setting. You can look down into the river and the cave beneath the tekija. You can also take a small raft into the cave. You can walk down the steps to the river where there is a small metal cup attached to a chain so that you can drink from the fresh water. You make a wish and take a sip. Beautiful and peaceful location. But there are restaurants around the place, which can mess up the tranquility of the place sometimes. READ MORE

I By:   I 2 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   Europe, Slovakia I   , , , , , , The other day my friend talked some sense into me,i was about to head back to Budapest for my flight back to Helsinki directly from Vienna. He suggested me to take a detour to Bratislava which was not so far.I was persistent about the plan of returning back straight to Budapest until he told me that there is a nice castle sitting on a hill top. That was the statement where he got me,apparently he knew my weakness. Towards Bratislava I could see this castle from quite some distance and route towards the castle from the Highway was properly marked. Bratislava Castle is located on hill top overlooking historic capital of the Slovak Republic. This was costructed... READ MORE

I By:   I 2 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   Europe, Slovakia I   , , , , , , , , , , , , , For the coming weekend, plan was to quickly pass through Slovakia and visit Transfagarasan in Romania. But that would require at least 4 days.I checked with my colleague if he can be my back up for two days and knowing about my plans he happily agreed to do so.Coast was clear and all i needed was an email from my manager with an "Approved" statement. With daily follow up and little bit of persuasion i got the approval.Had to modify the return ticket from Budapest for returning on Wednesday instead of Monday morning. On Next Saturday,i started from Krakow towards Slovakia.Plan was to visit the Slovakia side of Tatra mountains.Again no trekking only cable cars as we have already exhausted the entire year's trekking quota by walking down to Morskie Oko in Zakopane.
