I By:   I 10 months ago I   3 Comments I   North India, South India I   , This ride to North East started from Pune and i rode all the way from Pune to Kolkata.I had much time in my hand because i recently left my job and there wasn't any immediate job offer, perhaps no job offer at all.Ride till Kolkatta took its time in the slowest pace possible, catching up with friends and getting away with free food and stay was one of the main agenda and motivating factor for doing it in a slow and calm manner. First Stop at Hyderabad at a friend's place. That's vaibhav on the left and gupta ji on the right pouting his way to glory in the world of glamour. Golkunda Fort,Hyderabad. READ MORE

I By:   I 2 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   North India I   , , , , , , , , Day 5 - Rampur - Shoja - Banjar - Aut - Parashar Lake Trusting google map for the interior roads is one thing that everyone should avoid,Specially in India.I have been a victim of it but i don't regret being lost because the adventure i had was totally worth it.As i speak about being lost,I chose the shortest route via Banjar/Tirthan Valley to reach Parashar lake from Rampur as per the google maps.Passed through some amazing and quiet landscapes. I By:   I 2 years ago I   2 Comments I   North India I   , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , Day 4 - Puh - Kalpa - Karcham - Sangla Valley - Chitkul - Rampur I was running ahead of schedule and i had 2 additional days in my hand.I roped in Sangla Valley and Parashar lake in my plan. But,before i head out to the Sangla circuit,i went to Rekong Peo to tank up and take some back up fuel.As i filled up fuel at the Indian oil pump, i came across this crazy idea to have a clear look at the Kalpa Range.I took this narrow winding road and followed it till its existence. There was hotel (forgot the name) .on the left,i requested the manager to allow me to go the terrace to take a picture and he happily agreed.Meanwhile he started marketing about his hotel and his chain of hotels in Kinnaur region.Owner of the hotel was a Bengali :D READ MORE

I By:   I 3 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   North India I   , , , , , , , , Day 3 - Kibber - Kaza - Tabo - Nako - Puh It was horribly cold last night and i was glad that i survived in that cold. But,my despair doesn't ends here..It was time for early morning rituals and i was presented with a special washroom as all the attached washrooms were closed and not working due to the frozen water in the pipes. There was a square room..in one corner lot of dry cow/goat dung (atleast it looked like it :D ) was there and in middle..there was a small hole..Specially made for target practicing while shitting i guess :).On the other side i could clearly see white snow and as soon as i started the target practicing..I could feel the chill and negative temperature on all those god forsaken parts. But as they say tough times never last but tough people do,all said and done..I was over with rituals and with morning tea i was ready to... Few weeks in Dharamkot and Trek to Snow Line – PART 5

I By:   I 3 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   North India I   , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , As the weekend ends,So ends my adventure.I trekked back to my hotel and had enough rest to be ready for the blood sucking Monday. For the rest of the business days i behaved like an dedicated and honest employee.Waited patiently for the torment to get over and weekend to begin.Visiting Kangra fort,Baijnath temple and Masroor was the agenda for the weekend. I have to agree that i am addicted to all these historical architectures,so...while i was so close to Kangra Fort.I did not wanted to miss the chance to witness its greatness by myself. The Kangra Fort was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra (the Katoch dynasty), which traces its origins to the ancient Trigarta Kingdom, mentioned in the Mahabharata epic. It is the largest fort in the Himalayas and probably the oldest dated fort in India. READ MORE
