I By:   I 2 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   Estonia, Europe I   , , , , , , I was surviving on Hot Dogs during the day and during the night,And this was the first time i noticed that there are two sorts of Hot Dogs. One American and another is French.French ones usually have the closed bread and sauces are filled inside it and american one comes with a open bread and we have a choice to fill in some more fillers.Well that was just an observation which i converted into my understanding. Noticed lots of cops cars and bikes around the Tallin-Narva route. As i was in Tartru for the night i planned to go to the Tartu Cathedral in the morning. READ MORE

Visit to Narva Fortress – Estonia

I By:   I 2 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   Estonia, Europe I   , , , , , , , , , , , , Tallin is two and a half hour by Viking Line or Silja line cruise, viking line being the cheapest AFAIK.The other option is to go thru the pain of getting a Russian visa and ride all the way by land and enter Estonia through Narva. Finished my work for Friday and took the 9 PM ferry to reach Tallin. Being bit late for the Friday night, all i could do is check-in in a hostel and grab some to make up for the lost party time READ MORE

Winter trip to Tallin – Jan 2015

I By:   I 3 years ago I   0 COMMENTS I   Estonia, Europe I   , , , , This was more of a booze shopping trip as we just had 2-3 hours before our cruise returns from Tallin back to Helsinki. It was good deal with 12 Euro return trip with a cabin in Viking Line.We boarded Viking line express from Katajanokan Terminal and tallin was just 2:30 hours away. Our cruise  :) As soon as we landed in Tallin,we ran towards the old town to make the most of the little time we had.My colleague was accompanying me in this trip,so i had to be his guide while we take a quick walk. I By:   I 3 years ago I   1 Comment I   Estonia, Europe I   , , , , , , , , , Fortification of the old town area still stands very strong and it is in as beautiful condition as it would have been in its glorious days.   Alexander Nevsky Cathedral - Its an orthodox cathedral in the Tallinn Old Town. It was built and designed by Mikhail Preobrazhensky in a typical Russian Revival style between 1894 and 1900, during the period when the country was part of the Russian Empire. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is Tallinn's largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral. It is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky who in 1242 won the Battle of the Ice on Lake Peipus, in the territorial waters of present-day Estonia. ... READ MORE
